Get to Know the Team
The People Data Warehouse (PDW) team provides the data platform used for real-world solutions in pursuit of a people culture at Grab. The work you do in the PDW team will have an amplifying impact on Grab as it improves thousands of Grabbers who work together to unlock the potential of Grab to drive hundreds of millions to economic empowerment and prosperity.
Building on our data platform, we're now focused on translating its power into tangible impact. We're developing a platform to create a dynamic data product experience, transforming the PDW's solid data foundation into interactive applications that deliver actionable insights to our internal stakeholders.
Get to Know the Role
As a Full-Stack Data Engineer Intern, you'll be involved in the entire lifecycle of our data product platform. You'll work with the team to design, develop, and deploy applications that integrate with our data pipelines. This includes building interactive front-end interfaces using React, developing back-end APIs in Python, and ensuring seamless data flow from our PDW to our applications. You'll contribute to the automation of manual tasks, improve the user experience, and help maintain our AWS infrastructure.
You will report to the Lead Data Engineer and work in Petaling Jaya onsite.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Develop and maintain interactive front-end applications using React, focusing on data visualization and user experience.
• Build and maintain back-end APIs using Python to serve data to the front-end applications.
• Integrate applications with data pipelines and the PDW, ensuring seamless data flow.
• Maintain our AWS infrastructure using Terraform, focusing on deploying and scaling our data product platform.
• Work on the automation of manual tasks across the full-stack development lifecycle.
• Work with the team to troubleshoot issues and propose solutions across both front-end and back-end components.
• Contribute to the CI/CD pipeline to ensure efficient deployment of new features and updates.

Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Your studies as an Undergraduate in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• Proficiency in React and JavaScript for building dynamic user interfaces.
• Proficiency in Python for building back-end APIs and data processing scripts.
• Experience using SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Some familiarity with AWS infrastructure and Terraform.
• Understanding of data platforms and pipelines.
• Understanding of implementing automation and workflows of manual tasks.
• A desire to create data-driven user interfaces.
• A basic understanding of API design.
