The work you do in the PDW team will have an amplifying impact on Grab as it improves thousands of Grabbers who work together to unlock the potential of Grab to bring hundreds of millions to economic empowerment and prosperity.To build this data foundation, we extract and integrate a large variety of data sources and provide a secure, scalable, reliable and efficient platform for processing this data for insights.Get to Know the RoleDespite being a small team, we manage the full life cycle of this data platform which includes requirement gathering and negotiations with data source providers, writing pipelines that ingest the data from source APIs, loading the data into a data warehouse followed by transforming that data.We support integrations from several tools that are used by our downstream users who use PDW data for use cases such as business intelligence, analytics and machine learning. Finally, we manage all of the operations including the infrastructure layer.You will report to the Engineer Manager II and working onsite.The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • You will apply Python, JavaScript & SQL code components in the Extract, Transform, & Load (ETL) framework or as supporting scripts
  • You will maintain our AWS infrastructure using Terraform
  • You will manage data pipelines for Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) and transformations
  • You will work on the automation of manual tasks
  • You will work with the team to troubleshoot issues and propose solutions
  • You will enhance your skills as a Data Engineer working on large systems and data using the latest technologies including AWS Redshift, Airflow, CI/CD DevOps practices, automation and workflows to support complex data platforms
QualificationsWhat Essential Skills You Will Need
  • Your studies as an Undergraduate in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • You will have proficiency in Python or JavaScript
  • You will have experience using SQL.
  • You will have some familiarity with AWS infrastructure and Terraform
  • You will understand data platforms and pipelines
  • You will understand implementing automation and workflows of manual tasks
