Job Description

Role Purpose:



The Innovation & Commercialization Intern will support the planning, research, and execution of innovation-driven initiatives at IMU. This role provides hands-on experience in market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and commercialization strategy while assisting with project documentation, event coordination, and day-today administrative tasks that drive innovation impact.

Key Responsibilities:



- Assist Innovation Projects: Support the planning and coordination of innovation-related projects by helping to schedule meetings, track progress, and document key milestones.

- Market Research Support: Help gather and analyze basic market data to explore the potential of research innovations, including identifying industry trends and understanding user needs.

- Documentation & Reporting: Assist in preparing slides, summaries, and reports related to commercialization activities. Ensure that documentation is well-organized and kept up to date.

- Stakeholder Engagement Coordination: Support communication efforts between internal departments (e.g., faculties and student teams) and external collaborators such as companies and investors.

- Commercialization Activities: Help in compiling information to support go-to-market planning for IMU research outputs, including participating in innovation briefings or idea evaluations.

- General Administrative Support: Provide assistance with scheduling, calendar management, data entry, and general office coordination as needed by the team.

- Event Support: Assist in the preparation and smooth running of events, workshops, or innovation showcases such as Career Day or Pitching Sessions.

Qualifications:



Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Health Sciences, Innovation Management, or a related field. Interest in innovation, research commercialization, entrepreneurship, or technology transfer. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Basic understanding of market research or ability to learn quickly. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Notion) is an advantage.
Job Type: Internship

Pay: RM1,000.00 - RM1,200.00 per month
