About our group:

As a part of the Global Infrastructure Services team, our goal is to provide reliable compute, storage and network services to all Seagate factories and design center operations. Our motto is to architect and transform our compute/storage/network systems with standard consistent architecture globally to achieve stability, service agility, simplified support, and ease of management by any Administrators across the globe. About the role - you will:

• Support Seagate\'s IT Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) organization in optimizing and continuously improving our business processes and projects
• Assist with our team on implementing IT Infrastructure automation initiatives around data center infrastructure that includes Linux and Windows OS environment

Intern duties will include but not limited to:

• Creating Ansible playbooks and modules to automate system administration for distributed data centers and global infrastructure.
• Automating the repetitive OS support tasks through Ansible and PowerShell.
• Developing Ansible templates, playbooks integrated with Python scripts for infrastructure config automation
• Automation of the VM provisioning process
• Producing documentation for tasks completed, according to established standards
• Demonstration of good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments

About you:

• Undergraduate of Bachelor or Master\'s degree in computer science or Computer Engineering or related fields
• Acquired UNIX and Linux system administration experience: ssh, monitoring processes, attaching storage, cleaning disk space, tailing logs, etc
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Linux operating system internals, file systems, disk/storage technologies and storage protocols
• Proficiency in a high-level language like Python and/or Shell Scripting
• Good understanding on Automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform
• A desire to write tools and applications to automate work rather than do things manually
• Familiarity with tools for monitoring and system alerting
• Professional and positive communication skills
• Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues
• Must be comfortable with ambiguity and be a resourceful, savvy professional that is committed to finding solutions and making an impact

Your experience includes:

• Application and knowledge in Linux, Windows, and VMware administration
• Proficiency in a high-level language like Python and/or Shell Scripting
• Background of working collaboratively, effective communication, a heightened attention to detail, superb organization, and collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders across the globe
• Self-motivated, independent and a team player with excellent analytical skills
• Previous internship and/or project experience (added advantage)
