Background The Hive is a venture capital fund that co-creates companies using a venture studio model. It works actively with founders to co-create, fund and launch startups focused on AI and Digital Transformation of the Enterprise. Key areas of focus for the Hive SEA are fintech, healthtech, agritech, greentech, edutech and smart governance. Founded in 2012, The Hive US is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley. The Hive US has co-created and invested in 27 companies since its inception including one successful IPO (Pinterest) and seven exits. Notable investors include GE, Verizon, Rockwell Automation, and March Capital. The Hive Brazil and The Hive India are also a part of The Hive US global group of funds. The Hive Southeast Asia is one of the selected Venture Capital fund managers for the Malaysia Government\'s Penjana Economic Stimulus Recovery Plan - Dana Penjana Nasional; an RM600 million investment fund set up by the Government of Malaysia for venture capital firms to invest in start-ups. This amount will be matched on a 1:1 basis in a private/public partnership. The Hive SEA is done in partnership with Hive in the US, Tuas Capital Partners, Sunway Group, and Penjana Kapital. To date, The Hive SEA has invested in 7 companies. Business Development Intern : We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Intern to join our team at Selangor Digital School. As a Business Development Intern, you will play a crucial role in expanding our corporate relations, fostering partnerships with universities, and contributing to student acquisition efforts. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in business development within the education sector. Responsibilities: Assist in developing and executing strategies to enhance corporate relations, including identifying potential corporate partners, initiating outreach, and maintaining ongoing communication. Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement strategies for student acquisition, including online and offline channels. Research and identify potential university partnerships to promote Selangor Digital School\'s programs and increase enrollment. Assist in organizing and attending networking events, workshops, and industry conferences to represent Selangor Digital School and establish connections. Support in creating and delivering presentations to potential corporate partners and university stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of all business development activities, partnerships, and communications. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Provide regular reports and updates to the Business Development Manager on progress, challenges, and opportunities. Requirements: Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently interact with professionals from various industries. Proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with digital marketing and social media platforms is a plus. Prior experience in business development, sales, or marketing is advantageous but not required. Passion for education and the digital transformation landscape.
