Be based in Miri to support the running of the All Aboard MakerSpace in Miri
Execute Education Programmes especially mentoring duties
Engage with students from other universities to build an organic Maker Community
Support the strategic operations of the team in various tech and leadership projects (e.g. Junior Innovate, Young Innovators Challenge, Mobile Apps Hackathon, Pustaka Maker Activities etc.)
Based on your interests and skills, you will take ownership of a chosen portfolio/ project to grow your technical and/or soft skills. Throughout the process, you will be constantly guided and coached by our Team. The examples of the portfolios are (but not limited to):
- Technology Development - exploring state-of-the-art technology in learning, and building DIY projects (from cloud-based weather station to plastic recycling machine, from Cryptocurrency Smart Contract to CubeSat) - Brands and Awareness - building brand presence through various online and offline media, curating stories and marketing collateral - Programme Management - organising various activities to further propagate the Maker Movement to children and youths - Support the Programme Officer and operations as and when needed Competency:
Undergraduate from Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, and/or any science/technical backgrounds
Interested in learning everything from Coding and 3D Printing, to Innovation Practices, to Programme Management and Coordination
Design skills using Adobe Illustrator and Sony Vegas (or any similar software) are a bonus
Proficient in Google Apps (such as Drive, Keep, Hangout, Calendar, etc.)
Enjoys working with children
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (particularly in English)
Fast learner, self-driven with a \xe2\x80\x9ccan-do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude
