Job Description

Purpose of the Role:

To provide hands-on experience in the travel and tourism industry by assisting with daily business operations, marketing, and sales activities. The intern will gain exposure to how a travel agency manages packages, customers, and marketing strategies to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business & Market Research

Conduct research on travel trends, competitor packages, and customer preferences. Assist in compiling data for new travel destinations or promotional campaigns.

2. Marketing & Promotion Support

Support the development of marketing materials, social media content, and online promotions. Help manage digital platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, website updates). Participate in event or booth promotions such as MATTA Fair or roadshows.

3. Sales & Customer Support

Assist in responding to customer inquiries and preparing travel quotations. Help maintain client databases and follow up on leads or bookings. Support the team in upselling or promoting seasonal travel packages.

4. Operations & Coordination

Assist in coordinating with tour operators, hotels, and transport providers. Help with itinerary planning and documentation for group tours. Learn the process of booking management and customer handling.

5. Administrative Tasks

Prepare reports, filing, and maintain organized travel records. Participate in internal meetings and contribute ideas for service improvement.

Requirements:

Currently pursuing a

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies, Marketing, Tourism Management, or related field

. Strong interest in travel, customer service, and business operations. Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (additional languages an advantage). Computer literate (Microsoft Office, social media, Canva, or similar tools). Enthusiastic, organized, and willing to learn.

Understand how a travel agency operates from sales to service delivery. Gain experience in marketing, customer relations, and travel package management. Learn to apply business principles in real-world travel operations. Develop teamwork, planning, and communication skills essential for a business career.
