Summary

Applies expertise in more than one area of specialization. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires and in-depth evaluation of various factors. Incumbents are accountable for quality of work delivered by external suppliers as applicable. Incumbents have decision-making authority and autonomy to deliver on goals of team. Influences others outside of team to ensure goals are met and resolves conflicts in an effective manner. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and serious delays in overall schedules of a site and/or regional function. May lead a multi-functional work group or project team consisting of one or more support staff and/or tech/professional staff, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialty. May determine new methods and procedures. Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships. Interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Interacts with and influences management and/or customers on significant issues.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Develops strategies for global inventory management.
• Develops, implements, tracks, and reports inventory results for Celestica globally.
• Assists in setting the global inventory targets and coordinates solutions to help achieve these targets.
• Develops standard inventory reporting approaches with sites and ensure committed plans are in place for days of supply and other inventory management metrics.
• Works with sites, CFT\'s and SCM staff as needed to drive results.
• Develops tactical and long-term initiatives covering process improvements, action plans, training and education, deployment of SMI and other inventory flexibility initiatives.
• Consolidates weekly and monthly inputs from sites and deals with site reporting issues.
• Develops reporting package/ presentation for executive review.
• Participates in strategic development sessions with senior SCM Management.
• Leads adhoc inventory management related assignments ie SMI database creation, interplant parts sharing.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Strong knowledge of global business environment and customers\' business.
• Strong knowledge of global inventory management, production planning, scheduling, material requirements planning and manufacturing control systems.
• Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, product builds process, materials being purchased by the department and the engineering change process.
• Knowledge of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills.
• Strong negotiation and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
• Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional overnight travel is required.

• Bachelor\'s degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experiency.
