A day in the life of Cyber Security Intern:

In this hands-on technical role, you will be developed with capabilities to manage security incidents, ensuring they are properly identified, analyzed, communicated, actioned/defended, investigated, and reported. In addition, specific projects will also be part of the role. This internship will provide a challenging but rewarding opportunity to learn many of the technologies and processes involved in cybersecurity incident response.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform technical cybersecurity investigations on security incidents, root cause analysis, mitigate the effects caused by an incident.
  • Support the design and build of threat detection controls in SIEM and other security solution to prevent and detect security incidents.
  • Assist with the creation and refinement of Incident Response run books
  • Support and assist with improvement of technical standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines to enable proper cyber risk mitigation.
Requirements:
  • Graduate or current enrollee in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineer or any program in the field of information technology, computer science, computer information systems, cyber security, or similar. Relevant technical experience may be substituted.
  • Familiarity or Interest in Cyber Security
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell)
  • Business Intelligence skills (e.g. PowerBI)
  • An analytical, problem-solving mindset.
  • Open-minded towards new and different ways of working.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
