Job Description

1. IT Infrastructure and Network Management



Network Administration:

Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Wi-Fi, and VPNs.

Server Management:

Oversee on-premise or cloud servers (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS). Perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups.

Hardware Management:

Procure, install, and maintain all IT hardware, including computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and servers.

2. User Support and Helpdesk



Technical Support:

Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues for employees. This is often done through a helpdesk ticketing system.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems promptly (e.g., email issues, login problems, software glitches).

Account Management:

Create, manage, and disable user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions in systems like Active Directory or Microsoft 365 Admin.

3. Software and Application Management



Software Deployment:

Install, configure, and update licensed software across the organization (e.g., Microsoft 365, Adobe Suite, specialized business applications).

License Management:

Track software licenses to ensure compliance and optimize costs.

Business Application Support:

Act as a liaison between users and vendors for specialized business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, accounting software).

4. Cybersecurity and Data Protection



Security Implementation:

Deploy and manage security tools like firewalls, antivirus software, anti-malware, and intrusion detection systems.

Policy Enforcement:

Implement and enforce IT security policies, including password policies and acceptable use policies.

Data Backup and Recovery:

Execute and test regular data backup procedures. Lead data recovery efforts in case of a failure or cyber-attack (like ransomware).

Vulnerability Management:

Stay informed about the latest security threats and apply patches and updates to mitigate risks.

5. Strategic Planning and IT Projects



IT Procurement:

Research, evaluate, and recommend new hardware and software solutions to meet business needs.

Budgeting:

Assist in preparing the IT budget and manage IT-related expenses.

Project Management:

Lead or participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, or the implementation of new software.

Vendor Management:

Liaise with external IT vendors, service providers, and consultants.

6. Documentation and Reporting



System Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for IT systems, network diagrams, and procedures.

Asset Inventory:

Keep a detailed record of all IT assets (hardware and software).

Reporting:

Generate regular reports on IT performance, helpdesk metrics (e.g., ticket resolution time), and project status for management.

Key Skills and Qualifications



Technical Skills:

Networking:

Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network troubleshooting.

Operating Systems:

Proficiency in Windows (client and server) and often Linux/macOS.

Security:

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and tools.

Hardware:

Ability to troubleshoot and repair PCs, laptops, and peripherals.

Pay: RM2,700.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
