THE ROLE:
AMD mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences. Our technology enables our customers to accelerate their applications, often improving performance by orders of magnitude compared to other approaches.
AMD IT provides a globally available, scalable infrastructure for engineering and business teams. The IT Platforms Engineering team is responsible for managing our Engineering, Business and Accelerated computing infrastructure. Our mission is to provide a cloud like experience for employees to access High Performance Compute (HPC), Enterprise data platforms and Elastic Cloud for creating breakthrough FPGA/Converged silicon.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for learning. You are ready to understand how IT infrastructure works and delivers value to Tech companies. You like taking responsibility for end-to-end outcomes of your efforts. You want to create great IT services from hardware, software, people and processes within a high-tech organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install/Configure/Support Linux OS and data infrastructure.
• Design and deploy Linux/Engineering infrastructure automation.
• Design and develop automation software in python or other equivalent scripting language.
• Help install/configure hardware/software within lab/datacenter spaces.
• Work with internal customers in managing incident tickets to achieve operational excellence.
• Work with global team to provide support and complete IT projects.
• Help build application services for IT, using cloud technologies.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Systems Engineer Linux general experience of Unix/Linux system administration with:

• 5+ years of experience in Unix/Linux systems administration, Continuous deployment
• Demonstrated experience with passion to learn, ownership and getting things done.
• Strong programming experience with automation using Python, Ansible, Puppet, Perl, or Bash/Shell scripting.
• Working knowledge of HPC environments including cloud providers like Azure, GCP, AWS
• Experienced in deploying multiple Storage solutions to public/private clouds.
• Candidate with additional experience/skills will set you apart:
• Experience with VDI technologies like Citrix & ETX
• Experience with Virtualization such as: KVM, Xen & VMware
• Experience with NAS (NFS & CIFS) storage like NetApp, Isilon & Nasuni
• Large cluster management tools such as: Puppet, CFengine
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, ELK stack, Kibana/Prometheus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's Degree in arts, Science or Engineering.
