Job Description


Lead overall IT operations so as to deliver end to end IT services both in terms of infrastructure and applications to customers with satisfaction and within budget.

Objectives of the Position

  • Lead overall IT operations so as to deliver end to end IT services both in terms of infrastructure and applications to customers with satisfaction and within budget.
  • Lead the Infrastructure Services (which include but not limited to systems and applications such as SAP, Knowledge Management and Legacy systems), IT Project and SAP Basis Support team to ensure that they operate within the strategic IT framework.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. Develop a work culture that fosters service excellence, customer focus and business process; ensure team members are equipped with the right competencies, cost effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Manage and responsible for Global and Regional Infrastructure Project(s) roll-out. This includes mid-term to long term planning, resource management (ensuring sufficient resources, in terms of both numbers and skills, are made available to the project), managing the schedule, managing the costs, risks and overall scope of work to ensure all projects are achieved with quality and budget targets according to approved programmed plans.
  • Ensure Business Groups\' adherence to Corporate\'s security, hardware, software and application standards, policies, guidelines and procedures.
Main Tasks

Infrastructure & Technology
  • Manage Network, Mail and Server Operations, and Infrastructure solutions and services in compliance to Corporate\'s IT Governance Strategies and Security Standards.
  • Manage the providers of IT Services, including Help Desk, Desktop Management, Server Management, LAN Management, Data Centre, Document Scanning Solution and Wide Area Network Management (WAN Management).
  • Manage the procurement and asset management of IT resources. Ensure that corporate licensing and purchasing procedures are followed.
  • Work with Group IT to ensure that centralized Infrastructure Support processes are adopted, implemented and maintained appropriately.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement and service efficiency initiatives related to the Infrastructure Support and IT Service providers\' team.
Project Management
  • Oversee the delivery of IT Infrastructure Project Services:
  • Program manage the project delivery. Monitor, consolidates and report all project(s) status.
  • Work with the business group leaders to ensure that effective and visible sponsorship is generated and available throughout the lifetime of the project.
  • Work with Project Managers in managing and delivering all Projects, and reporting progress against agreed objectives and deliverables. Plans and manages the overall work plan for delivery of projects. This includes updating the work plan, highlighting potential resource issues (i.e. resources shortage and excess by work areas), ensuring timely and quality deliverables, and managing project risks / issues.
  • Manage transition activities from Business Group or Project Services team for on-going business operation support. Service introduction preparation, identify the gap and outlined quality control measurement to ensure service handover to operation support is in good quality and minimize the disruption of on-going business support.
Planning and Controlling:
  • Plan and manage the overall budget of the Infrastructure Support team in consultation with Group IT, including the recovery of costs.
  • Design and implement effective charging mechanisms to ensure recovery of costs.
  • Maintain cost control within budget expenditure levels. Identify, recommend and implement measures to improve efficiency, service delivery and operational costs.
  • Prepare IT Operations reports including performance measurement against any agreed benchmarks, Service Levels and Key Performance Indicators (Balance Score Card).
  • Resource Management:Recruit and develop an optimum number of skilled IT professionals to provide professional and quality IT services in a cost-efficient model.
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of Group IT Strategic Plan.

Education, Skills and Qualifications

Education:

Degree, majoring in the area of Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Communications or Engineering or its equivalent.

Working Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years experience in IT Support operations including at least 5 years experience in managing an IT enterprise-wide infrastructure.
  • Experienced in managing IT in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in defining and managing an outsourced IT Service provider\'s contract, operations and provision of services.
  • Experienced in SAP Basis Security Management would be an advantage.

  • Customer focus mindset and being proactive to understand customer issues and manage expectations
  • Align proactively the delivery organization to stated and unstated needs of the customer and key stakeholders.

  • Good human relations and communication skills to develop and establish cooperation and rapport with users at the management levels and of different nationalities, and to lead and manage members of the CSC IT organization so as to develop and motivate people to achieve high performance.
Technical & Professional Knowledge:

1. In-depth knowledge and understanding of (preferably hands-on knowledge or experience):

\xc2\xb7 Latest LAN/MAN/WAN/VLAN technologies and networking concepts

\xc2\xb7 MPLS Network

\xc2\xb7 Active Directory, MS Exchange and ISA

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge Management Platforms such as Documentum, Sharepoint, Qlikview, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Wintel, Citrix, etc. server concepts

\xc2\xb7 SAP Basis and Security management

\xc2\xb7 Security concepts and technologies

\xc2\xb7 IT Procurement and Asset Management processes.

\xc2\xb7 Vendor and SLA management practices and principles

\xc2\xb7 Project management methodologies including application development life cycle.

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of ERP technical landscape (preferably SAP) and other business systems.
