Job Description



The Role The IT support executive will be responsible for provision of technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting and resolution of IT issues, maintenance, and optimization of computer hardware, software, and network, ensuring the smooth functioning of IT operations within the organization.
Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software for end-users.
  • Set up and maintain computer networks, including LAN and WAN.
  • Install and configure printers, scanners and other peripheral devices.
  • Set up and maintain telephony system (PABX) and surveillance system (CCTV).
  • Support and maintain multimedia and conferencing systems, such as speakers, speakerphones, microphones, monitors, touchscreens, and related items.
  • Liaise with contractors and other professional staff during IT projects implementation and 3rd party integration.
  • Provide training and support to end-users.
  • Maintain an inventory of all hardware and software assets.
  • Manage user accounts and access control for different systems.
  • Manage backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Maintain security protocols and firewalls to prevent unauthorized access to the network.
  • Stay up to date with new technology and industry trends to improve office IT infrastructure and services.
  • Perform proactive/reactive maintenance/updates/upgrades or IT service change as per Company\xe2\x80\x99s Change Management Policy in relation to Office IT infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and restore services as per Company\xe2\x80\x99s Incident Management Policy
  • Contribute to budget (CAPEX/OPEX) planning process in terms of Office IT hardware, software, or licenses.
  • Ensure that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.
  • Follow Company\xe2\x80\x99s IT and Data Centre policies.
  • Achieve targets set by line manager within guidelines established by the DC facilities Manager.

Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in IT support or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks, and operating systems such as Windows / Windows Server, Linux / Unix.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with end-users and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours when required.
  • Understanding of security protocols and firewalls to prevent unauthorized access to the network.
  • Knowledge of the IP networking stack, TCP/IP protocols.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to IT infrastructure and services.
  • Experience with ISP-specific software and technologies is a plus.
  • Able to start work immediately.
  • Free from criminal records and has a good standing reputation.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong English and Bahasa Melayu language command.

Physical demands
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, up to 25 kg.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and fast-paced environment.
