The Product + Technology department builds and maintains the Australian Metro Publishing\\digital products, including: smh.com.au, theage.com.au, afr.com.au and others across multiple platforms and systems. The Iteration Manager ensures that the squad\xe2\x80\x99s product backlog is delivered to the expectation of the business and technology departments through the application of modern agile delivery techniques whilst ensuring a highly engaging team environment and positive culture. Responsibilities Product Delivery: Formulate strategic delivery plans, including options analysis, risk analysis, delivery projections and release planning based on qualitative and quantitative techniques. Facilitate the prioritisation of the product backlog. Lead their squad to provide a reliable approach to sizing work on a continuous basis. Collaboration with product and engineering leadership to ensure the squads backlog of stories are well formed such that they are ready for the squad to complete in the most effective manner. Facilitate highly effective agile practices including standups, planning, reviews and retrospectives. Track and make visible all planned and in progress items against the delivery strategy. Remove impediments to the ability of the team to deliver. Continuously work to improve the squads capacity to deliver work. Partnerships and Culture: Assist your squad to self organize, adapt to change, and improve their agile capability. Ensure the desired outcome of the squads current focus is clearly promoted and communicated to the squad and to interested parties external to the squad. Ensure dependencies across teams are managed so that the squads work is not blocked and the squad is aligned to the high level business and technology goals. Establish effective communication channels between the squad and external parties. Highlight and propose options and actions where there is a risk to previously agreed delivery schedule via appropriate channels. Engender high engagement and alignment through a culture of empowerment, fun and positive energy. Partner with all functions within product and technology to incorporate established best practice into work delivered by the team. Agile Methodology: Deep understanding of modern agile practices and the ability to apply them effectively in the context of the squad and the business. The adoption of effective agile methodologies. Actively participate and improve on internal delivery best practice Qualifications Essential A proven track record working in and around product & development teams to deliver high quality products and experiences. A strong background in Agile methodology and delivery Experience and skills working in a technical environment, with the ability to distill complex business requirements into stories and tasks for team member Excellent communication and facilitation skills Experience and skills using and managing Atlassian JIRA Desirable Scrum Master training and/or certification Digital media industry experience Experience/passion for the latest technology
