Job Overview
A Factory Manager oversees the daily operations of a manufacturing plant, ensuring that production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained. The role requires a blend of managerial skills and technical knowledge to coordinate different departments, monitor production processes, and implement cost-effective strategies. Factory Managers are also responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, managing staff, and continuously improving production efficiency. This position is crucial for the smooth operation and profitability of the plant, making it a highly demanding yet rewarding role. Directly reporting to top Management.
Factory Manager Responsibilities & Duties
Oversee daily factory operations and production processes
Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations
Coordinate with different departments to streamline production
Manage factory staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
Implement cost-effective production strategies
Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet deadlines
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment
Develop and enforce factory policies and procedures
Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the factory
Maintain accurate production records and reports
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials
Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with environmental and health regulations
Prepare and manage the factory budget
Provide leadership and direction to improve overall factory performance
Factory Manager Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of production processes and techniques
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Proven ability to implement process improvements
Familiarity with industry-specific software and technology
Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Project management experience
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Knowledge of production management principles
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of factory machines and equipment
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
