Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer to join our IT team in the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications and services that support business processes and digital transformation initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring system performance, security, and scalability while adhering to best practices in software development.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable Java-based applications in line with insurance business requirements. Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirement gathering, analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Collaborate with business analysts, system architects, testers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions. Enhance and optimize existing systems, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards. Integrate with third-party systems and APIs commonly used in the insurance domain (e.g., payment gateways, regulatory platforms, etc.). Provide production support and troubleshoot complex issues. Document technical specifications and user manuals. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements:Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Professional certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer) are an added advantage.

Experience:

3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Java application development. Experience working in the insurance industry or with insurance-related systems is preferred. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in Java (Java SE and Java EE). Experience with frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SOAP, XML/JSON processing. Proficient in working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing complex SQL queries. Exposure to message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Experience with front-end technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, Angular/React) is a bonus. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven, SonarQube).

Pay: RM6,133.13 - RM12,251.12 per month
