Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Consultants to be part of the project. The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches. The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia. You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.
Responsibilities

• 1. Backend Application Development
• Design, develop, and enhance backend services for Digital Banking applications.
• Build REST/SOAP services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Implement business logic aligned with Retail Banking requirements. 2. Integration & Processing
• Support integration with internal and external systems using XML and messaging frameworks.
• Work on batch and scheduled processing using Spring Batch (good to have).
• Support API integrations using Camel (CXF) (good to have). 3. Database Development
• Develop and optimize database queries using Oracle SQL.
• Ensure data integrity, performance, and efficient transaction handling. 4. Environment & OS Support
• Develop and maintain Shell/Unix scripts for automation and support activities.
• Work on applications deployed on HPUX, Linux, and Solaris environments.
• Support application deployments and troubleshooting in lower and higher environments. 5. Quality, Testing & Support
• Perform unit testing and support system/integration testing.
• Fix defects, analyze production issues, and provide root-cause analysis.
• Follow secure coding standards and banking compliance guidelines. 6. Collaboration & Delivery
• Work in Agile/Scrum teams and participate in sprint ceremonies.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and business teams.
• Contribute to technical documentation and management reporting as required.

SKILLS
Must have

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot.
• Good knowledge of XML and Oracle SQL.
• Experience in Shell scripting for application support and automation.
• Exposure to backend development in Digital Banking / Retail Banking environments.
• Experience working on Unix/Linux-based systems.

Nice to have

• Integration frameworks: Camel (CXF). o Batch processing: Spring Batch. o Frontend exposure: JavaScript, JSP. o Application servers: WebLogic Portal. o DevOps exposure and CI/CD practices. o Agile/Scrum methodology experience. o Management reporting knowledge/experience.
