Our client is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Inspector of Works (M&E IOW). The role involves supervising M&E works, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with quality and technical standards, coordinating with contractors and consultants, and preparing progress reports. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality M&E works for a major industrial project.
To perform M&E inspections at the projects site and carry out quality audits on M&E works.
Supervise the contractor's work on site to ensure that it meets the required quality standards and to assess and evaluate the performance of M&E contractors/supplier and to ensure compliances to technical /M&E work requirement.
Verify contractor daily report.
To issue necessary site directions to the contractor and copy to all parties.
Facilitate interaction between consultants and contractor on site to resolve design and construction issues.
Perform the inspection as the ITP, and assistant update the ITP (if needed)
Monitor delivery of construction materials and ensure that quality, types and /or dimension are as per the specified requirements.
Liaise and works closely with local authorities, consultants, main contractor and othersub-contractor involved in the project.
Prepare Weekly&monthly M & E progress reports and attend site meetings.
To review design, optimization and provide technical support.
To coordinate the design between Mechanical & Electrical, Architectural, Civil & System and Structural disciplines.
To ensure contractor are comply with the standards & guidelines.
To report any non-conforming matters identified during inspections to the Resident
Engineer and follow up with contractors to ensure corrective actions are taken.
To check all defect rectification works in accordance to approved method statement during the Defect Liability Period.
Be conversant with all working documents that are applicable to the project.
To ensure proper record keeping of documentation and correspondences for future reference of work done.
Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Skills & Qualifications
University degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related major
Minimum 3 years working experience site supervision of construction in M&E works / Inspector of Works.
Familiar with MS Office and CAD
Certificate of Registration of Inspector of Works with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
Additional Requirements
Comply with the law of Malaysia and Company's procedure and specification.
Following consultant's requirements, and set up the tracing list or record of M&E inspection work
Following the confidentiality of project and company's specification.
Working Days & Time: Monday - Friday (8:30AM - 5:30PM)
