WithSecure Intelligence is our unit dedicated to researching endpoint threat detection, cloud and web security, detection and response methodologies, data-driven threat insights, and tracking and deciphering advanced persistent threats. Our team includes machine learning experts, malware analysts, reverse engineers, threat intelligence specialists, detection engineers, and data analysts. We closely collaborate with partners, industry counterparts, academic institutions, investigative journalists, and local CERTS, to ensure the unit learns from and contributes to global cyber security efforts.

If you\'re interested in working with endpoint protection and cloud platform protection products, designing machine learning mechanisms to improve the usability of our products, research and implement systems and processes to make sure our products detect malicious behavior efficiently with minimal false positives, look no further than this job.

Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Clean File Detection Specialist in WithSecure Intelligence Team, you will do:

• Clean File Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of files to determine their legitimacy and safety, examining their behavior, characteristics, and reputation.
• Detection Rule Development: Design and develop detection rules and algorithms that accurately identify and classify clean files, leveraging a variety of techniques such as static and dynamic analysis, heuristics, and machine learning.
• Data Analysis: Utilize large datasets, including file intelligence feeds, metadata, and behavioral patterns, to identify new trends, and opportunities for enhancing clean file detection capabilities.
• Process Improvements: Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency of our clean file classification processes, keeping abreast of industry advancements and emerging technologies to enhance our clean file analysis methodologies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including malware researchers, software engineers, and data scientists, to share insights, collaborate on detection strategies, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of our security products.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of detection methodologies, processes, and findings, enabling knowledge sharing within the team and providing guidance for future enhancements.

What are we looking for?
Ideal candidates for this position will be able to fulfill some or all of the following requirements:

• Familiarity with Windows operating system and common file formats. Familiarity with other operating systems is a plus.
• Good programming background and used languages such as Python. Knowledge with Lua and Java is a plus.
• Ability to quickly learn new programming languages.
• Good command of the English language.
• A good candidate will have an analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and knowledge of how security products work is a plus.
