The Flux Core Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks using Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes to join, fabricate, and repair metal structures and components according to specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
To perform welding operations using Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) techniques in accordance with welding procedures and standards (AWS/ASME/ISO).
To read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols to ensure accuracy of welds.
To prepare materials and equipment for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and setting up workpieces.
To inspect and verify dimensions, alignment, and quality of welds using measuring tools and gauges.
To carry out repair welding and rework when required.
To follow company safety policies, OSHA/DOSH standards, and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
To maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in good condition.
To report any equipment malfunctions, defects, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
To collaborate with team members, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure production targets are met.
Requirements
Minimum SPM or equivalent; Technical / Welding certification is an added advantage.
At least 1 years' experience in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) or related welding processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
Familiarity with welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME, or equivalent).
Knowledge of safe welding practices and procedures.
Physically fit, with good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Willing to work in shifts and overtime when required.
Valid Welding Certificate (e.g., CSWIP, AWS, or equivalent)
Experience in heavy steel fabrication, construction, or oil & gas projects
Good teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work under minimal supervision
