Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Software Tester to support the testing and quality assurance of our in-house and third-party software applications, particularly those related to manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory, and automation systems. You will work closely with software developers, IT teams, and process owners to ensure high-quality, bug-free software solutions that meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in creating, maintaining, and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and/or automated). Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing on manufacturing-related software systems (e.g., MES, ERP modules, SCADA interfaces). Document and track software defects and inconsistencies using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla). Collaborate with developers and users to understand requirements and ensure thorough test coverage. Participate in software requirement and design review meetings to understand system functionality. Perform basic database validations using SQL queries. Support the release and deployment process by conducting smoke and sanity testing. Ensure compliance with software quality standards and procedures. Assist in documenting user guides or SOPs for QA testing processes. Provide feedback for continuous improvement in testing methods and tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 1.5 -3 years of experience in software testing or QA role. Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies. Familiarity with bug tracking tools and version control systems. Knowledge of databases and ability to write simple SQL queries. Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Attention to detail and willingness to learn manufacturing domain processes.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

Exposure to testing in manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP, MES, PLC integration). Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, JUnit). ISTQB Foundation Level Certification or equivalent. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,800.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
