Junior Naval Architect
Location: Shah Alam
Reports To: Senior Naval Architect / Owner

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman specializing in Ship Design to support our naval architecture and engineering teams in developing accurate and high-quality technical drawings for ship construction and retrofitting projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in marine drafting, a good understanding of ship structures and systems, and proficiency in CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed 2D technical drawings for various ship design elements (hull structure, piping systems, outfitting, machinery layout, etc.)
Interpret design sketches, specifications, and calculations from naval architects and marine engineers.
Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, structural plans, and system schematics.
Revise drawings based on feedback and design changes.
Maintain drawing records and ensure compliance with industry standards and classification society requirements.
Collaborate with the design, engineering, and production teams to ensure drawing accuracy and manufacturability.
Assist in preparing documentation for shipbuilding, conversion, and repair projects.

Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
Sijil / Diploma / Degree in Naval Architecture or related field
Certification in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD and Maxsurf software) is an advantage.

Experience:
Fresh graduate are welcoming.
Experience working with classification societies (e.g., DNV, ABS, Lloyd's) is a plus.

Technical Skills:
Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD tools.
Knowledge of ship design principles, including structural, mechanical, and outfitting aspects.
Familiarity with ship terminology and marine standards.

Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Preferred:
Experience with ship design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino and Maxsurft
Familiarity with IMO and SOLAS regulations.
Knowledge of modeling and rendering tools for ship presentations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Freelance, Fresh graduate

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
