Hiring - Junior Sedimentologist (Laboratory - Oil & Gas)

The Junior Sedimentologist will support laboratory operations by assisting in sediment sample preparation, core description, grain-size analysis, and petrographic examination.

Responsibilities

The role includes recording and managing laboratory data, Conducting routine analyses under supervision. Contributing to facies identification and depositional environment interpretation. The candidate will learn advanced analytical techniques, support reservoir characterization studies, and contribute to technical reports . Developing strong laboratory-based sedimentological skills in the oil and gas domain.

Requirements (with focus on lab setting - Oil & Gas)

BSc in Geology, better if MSc or PhD Min 2 years of experience in laboratory setting within Oil and Gas industry Basic knowledge of core description, facies logging, and petrographic techniques. Hands-on exposure to sedimentological lab methods (sample prep, thin sections, grain-size analysis). Familiarity with geological software and willingness to learn industry-standard tools. Strong observational, data-recording, and analytical skills. Ability to work under supervision and follow established lab protocols. Good teamwork, communication, and reporting skills. Keen interest in oil & gas sedimentology with willingness to learn integration with seismic/petrophysics.
