Junior Sous Chef

to join our dynamic team. Whether you're currently a Cook or Chef de Partie (CDP), this is your opportunity to challenge yourself by supporting our culinary team in creating exceptional dishes. You'll play a key role in delivering memorable dining experiences and contributing to the smooth operation of our restaurant/cafe kitchen.
Candidates must be experienced who are well capable of running a fast-paced operation doing 2-3 turns for each meal period while maintaining very high food standards. They must have a stable experience of minimum 2 years in all their past roles as we are building a team for the long run. Role requires a person who can maintain a very high level of consistency in recipe execution and maintaining quality. Having experience in a Korean or Asian restaurant would be a plus but not a necessity.
Core Responsibilities
Lead daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow across all stations.
Support the Head Chef and take charge of the kitchen in their absence.
Supervise and guide kitchen staff including CDP, Demi and Commis
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to brand recipes and culinary standards.
Maintain consistency in taste, seasoning, marination, and presentation for all menu items.
Execute Korean cooking techniques including broths, herbal cooking, noodle preparation, and fermentation.
Conduct quality checks on food before serving to maintain premium dining standards.
Oversee mise-en-place preparation to ensure freshness and readiness for service.
Train staff on cooking methods, hygiene practices, and equipment handling.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage, labelling, and stock rotation.
Manage ordering of ingredients and support cost control by reducing wastage.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations.
Conduct regular kitchen inspections to ensure organisation and equipment upkeep.
Assist with menu development, seasonal dishes, and R&D aligned with each brand concept.
Provide operational feedback and help improve efficiency, quality, and kitchen performance.
Job Specifications
A diploma or degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts (preferred but not required).
At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role within a restaurant, cafe, or hospitality setting.
Korean cuisine experience would be a plus, but not required.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Passion for creating great food and delivering exceptional service.
Knowledge of safety and hygiene best practices, with excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
