General Manager, Finance (based in Yokohama/Okinawa, Japan)Responsibilities
Manage the development budget effectively, ensuring allocation of resources in line with project objectives and financial targets.
Oversee cash flow requirements, including sourcing funds from equity partners and securing bank financing, to support project development and construction activities.
Maintain accurate financial records and forecasts to track project expenditure and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Coordinate with project management teams to monitor spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate financial risks throughout the development lifecycle.
Monitor the financial account closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion, and liaise with accountants and auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
Work closely with stakeholders to evaluate investment opportunities, assess financial viability, and optimize capital allocation strategies.
Provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making processes and drive profitability in line with project timelines and objectives.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate financing terms, manage debt obligations, and optimize funding structures for project sustainability.
Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets, minimize financial risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead financial planning and analysis initiatives to support strategic business initiatives, identify growth opportunities, and drive performance improvements across the organization.
Foster a culture of financial accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance team and across project stakeholders.
Requirements
Candidate must possess Degree in Accounting or professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or its equivalent from reputable universities in Japan.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction/property development, with experience in Japan preferred.
Demonstrated integrity, dynamism, target orientation, and strong leadership qualities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly self-motivated and able to work well under pressure.
Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese and English.
