THE OPPORTUNITY Herbert Smith Freehills Kuala Lumpur is offering paid internship opportunities to undergraduate law students who are interested in getting first-hand experience in a leading international law firm. An internship with us will allow you to experience our cutting-edge work and collaborative culture.

You will work alongside our partners and associates on tasks and projects for our clients, giving you a chance to gain a real insight into the depth and breadth of our current practice areas in Kuala Lumpur, which span banking & finance, corporate and disputes resolution. In addition, you will have the opportunity to attend a number of events and presentations where you will learn about our practice areas while developing your legal skills.

Our internship scheme will run from August to September 2023. The duration of the internship will be for one full calendar month per intern, commencing from the first business day of the relevant month.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be eligible for our Kuala Lumpur Internship Scheme, you must:

• be a Malaysian citizen;
• at the time of application, be an undergraduate studying law in either Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Australia or New Zealand;
• have scored a minimum of a second upper (2:1) average;
• have completed the basic contract module in your undergraduate studies by the time you commence your internship;
• commit to one full calendar month of internship; and
• if living outside of the Klang Valley area, be responsible for your own travel and accommodation arrangements.

You should be a self-motivated individual with outstanding achievements in academic and extra-curricular activities. You should also be a team player with excellent organisation and English communication skills.
