Responsibilities RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY : a) Maintenance of the quality manual and associated operation documents. b) Correspond with Department of Standard Malaysia for any accreditation related issue. c) He/she shall be afforded the full support and freedom of action to perform his/her duties effectively and have direct access to the highest level of management. d) Approve master list of form and external documents prior to issue e) Approve supplier f) Monitoring of laboratory practices to verify continuing conformity with and effectiveness of policies and procedures. g) As the Quality Manager, he/she shall ensure the Quality System is implemented and followed at all times. In issues pertaining to the Quality System, he shall have freedom to report direct to the top management in order to have decisions made on laboratory policies or resources. h) Review all documents pertaining to the Quality System to ensure requirements are fulfilled. i) Receives complaints and ensure implementation of the corrective action and preventive action program for the laboratory j) Form investigation team for handling of complaints and handling of non- conforming testing work and corrective action a) Review feedbacks received from customers. b) Appoint staff to do filing, files storage, disposal and maintain closed file record. c) Appoint lead auditor and audit team members d) Take corrective action in accordance with audit findings or assign to other personnel. e) Plan and organize audits according to predetermined schedule or requested by management. f) Prepare agenda and set the date of management review g) Ensure that the action plans resulted from management review are carried out within an appropriate and agreed timescale. a) Identify training needs and plan for the provision of such training for Laboratory personnel. b) Maintain any training material received from an external training as a reference copy. c) Review of effectiveness of training program. d) Ensure that quality and technical records are properly maintained and protected against loss or damage. e) Manage and supervise laboratory personnel on daily work activities to ensure quality of test performances. f) Ensure safe laboratory practices as well as good housekeeping activities. g) Ensure the instrument calibration and verification of equipments are carried out as per requirement or prescribed intervals. h) Ensure the validation of test method in scope. i) Review the effectiveness of risk management. j) Ensure proper maintenance and operation of equipments and facilities in the Laboratory k) To maintain all the license required by local authority and lab compliance Requirements QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : a) Posses at least Bachelor or Degree of Science and related field. b) Registered Chemist with Institute Kimia Malaysia / lab analyst under MJMM by KKM. c) Have at least minimum of 5 years work experience in established Chemical Laboratory. d) Able to be based in Kuching, Sarawak
