About the role

The Lab Technician plays a vital part in supporting efficient production runs for the Kerry Penang site. Responsibilities include sampling, testing, troubleshooting, record-keeping, HACCP implementation, and ensuring cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• To obtain finished products samples according to sampling plan
• To perform physical & chemical testing according to testing methods and frequency
• To support in line troubleshooting and investigation.
• To check on foreign matter verification as per SOP.
• To perform ATP and protein swab for processing line. To support in cleaning verification.
• To perform daily calibration of required equipment\'s in physical lab
• To prepare related chemical solution according to working instruction
• To pack and keep the reference and retain samples for every production run and the details shall be recorded
• To maintain the retained samples room is clean and organized at all time
• To ensure tests and inspection activities are carried out as per procedures
• Implement and maintain HACCP, Quality Control & Good Laboratory Practices and maintain records and other documentation.
• Record keeping for all relevant quality control check sheets including data entry into log sheets and SAP system.
• To communicate on issues with relevant departments e.g. product issue with production and line execs, etc.
• To maintain cleanliness in laboratories and other QA areas. Maintain 5s at all times.
• Maintain compliance to HSE and Life requirements.
• To fill in required documents on shifts, attendance, OTs and other related HR requirements. To submit leaves and OTs as per procedure.

Qualifications and skills

• Diploma in Food Technology / Nutrition / Dietetics, Food & Beverage Services Management, Engineering (Industrial), or equivalent.
• SPM (science stream) with at least 2 years\' experience in a manufacturing environment will also be considered.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the food industry is highly advantageous.
• Technical Skills:
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in shifts.
