is responsible for calibrating, testing, and maintaining laboratory instruments and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with scientific and industry standards. They play a critical role in supporting research, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform
calibration, testing, and adjustment
of scientific instruments such as balances, spectrometers, thermometers, pipettes, and pressure sensors.
Ensure all calibrations meet
ISO 17025
and other regulatory requirements.
Document
calibration results, certificates, and compliance records
accurately.
Conduct
troubleshooting and minor repairs
on lab equipment to maintain precision.
Maintain calibration standards, ensuring traceability to
national and international metrology institutions (e.g., NIST, BIPM)
.
Assist scientists, researchers, and quality teams by ensuring all instruments provide
reliable and accurate measurements
.
Develop and follow
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
for calibration and instrument maintenance.
Ensure laboratory safety standards and environmental conditions are maintained for accurate calibration results.
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma
in
Metrology, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific field
.
Experience in
laboratory calibration, quality control, or scientific instrumentation
.
Knowledge of
measurement principles, calibration techniques, and laboratory equipment
.
Familiarity with
ISO 17025 or other industry standards
.
Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills
.
Ability to work in a
controlled laboratory environment
with attention to precision and detail.
