About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on

Lead Cloud Operations Engineer

to head our cloud operations team and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of mission-critical systems. This leadership role blends deep technical expertise with strong people management skills. You will be responsible for designing and building cloud infrastructure, driving automation, mentoring engineers, and leading the team in delivering operational excellence across enterprise-scale platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Cloud Operations Engineers, ensuring high standards of performance and collaboration. Design, build, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, and other automation tools. Oversee proactive monitoring solutions, incident management, and Tier 3 escalation leadership in production environments. Provide strategic direction for containerization strategy, with hands-on expertise in Docker, AWS ECS, and AWS EKS. Drive automation initiatives to streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve system reliability. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to resolve recurring issues, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and accelerate bug resolution. Ensure cloud systems meet enterprise standards for availability, security, scalability, and performance. Define KPIs, track team performance, and promote knowledge sharing through technical documentation and best practices. Stay ahead of industry trends and new technologies to continually evolve infrastructure strategy.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of cloud/DevOps experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience designing, managing, and building AWS infrastructure independently. Hands-on expertise with Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, and related automation tools. Strong experience with Docker containers, AWS ECS, and AWS EKS (essential). Proficiency in scripting/programming (PowerShell, Python, Bash/Shell, Java, Node.js). Solid understanding of CI/CD, monitoring tools (Grafana, DataDog), networking, and cloud security. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to inspire a high-performance culture. Ability to balance technical depth with team management, strategy, and business impact.
