Lead Database Administrator
Location: Cyberjaya, Selangor | (Onsite | Monday - Friday, Office Hours) - - standby for activation if required
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: RM 20,000/month + Fixed Allowance of RM950/month
About the Role
Our client, a leading financial services institution, is expanding its IT Database team in Malaysia and is seeking a highly skilled Lead Database Administrator (DBA). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a mission-critical environment, overseeing database platforms, ensuring operational stability, and leading a team of skilled DBAs.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 technical support for enterprise database platforms, primarily Oracle and Microsoft SQL, with exposure to MySQL and DB2.
• Lead and mentor a team of database administrators, ensuring effective workload management and professional development.
• Manage daily database operations, including patching, hardening, backup, and health checks.
• Oversee incident and service request management, ensuring SLAs are met and critical issues (P1/P2) are resolved promptly.
• Participate in and direct disaster recovery (DR) activities, database migration, and upgrade projects.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, internal governance, and audit requirements.
• Monitor performance and capacity of Oracle Exadata / ExaCC environments, providing weekly and monthly reports.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance team efficiency, security, and service quality.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL database administration.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) required
• Proven leadership in managing DBA teams in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.
• High integrity with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
