The Lead Engineer, Statistical Process, will serve as the organization's primary expert in statistical methodologies, supporting the Kulim manufacturing facility. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Process, and Quality Engineering teams to improve process capability, strengthen Statistical Process Control (SPC) practices, and drive data-driven decision-making across New Product Introduction (NPI) and existing product lines. The position is responsible for ensuring statistical compliance, conducting advanced statistical evaluations, and guiding teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Job Responsibilities:
o
Lead and champion the implementation, development, and sustainability of Statistical Process Control (SPC) across all relevant manufacturing processes.
o
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process, and Quality Engineers to conduct root-cause analysis using appropriate statistical tools across incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality streams.
o
Perform advanced statistical evaluations, including Design of Experiments (DOE), data mining, and process capability studies.
o
Design, propose, and execute experiments aimed at improving quality, efficiency, and manufacturing process capability.
o
Participate in customer excursion investigations and contribute significantly to corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives using statistical analysis.
o
Serve as the internal statistical consultant, advising engineering teams on best practices and statistical rule adherence.
o
Translate complex statistical findings into clear, concise presentations for cross-functional stakeholders.
o
Work with the Manufacturing Systems Solutions team to define and implement statistical dashboards for process monitoring and control.
Job Requirements :
o
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or related field.
o
10-15 years of experience applying statistical process improvement methods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
o
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
o
Strong proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and practical application.
o
Hands-on expertise in Minitab and other statistical analysis tools.
o
Ability to understand manufacturing processes and deliver actionable results within short lead times.
o
Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
o
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to challenge existing processes to drive improvements.
o
Experience leading SPC reviews, driving action plans, and working with cross-functional teams.
