As part of the ERP function, you will design and embed a scalable data governance operating model & influence decisions on data governance tooling to enable governance of SAP data across the enterprise whilst bp transitions from our legacy ERP implementation to SAP RISE as part of a multi year program.
Let me tell you about the role
We are seeking a Lead Data Governance Architect that will work with the Data Offices to define the policies, standards, and processes that govern SAP master data and transactional data that forms the basis of an enduring data governance operating model, ensuring data is:
Authoritative and well controlled at the source (SAP ECC / S/4HANA)
Consistently interpreted and reconciled downstream
Discoverable, trusted, and compliant in analytics platforms
Fit for sophisticated analytics and AI use cases
As bp has embarked on a multi-year ERP transformation program to SAP RISE, it is encouraged that the operating model will need to integrate with the program to pilot the data governance processes.
The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of SAP application architecture, data platforms, data governance tooling, and business operating models, turning data governance from a theoretical concept into operational processes implemented across systems that you will design.
The candidate should also have general experience of business processes in Oil & Gas and how they manifest as data objects across multiple SAP application components from Finance, Procurement, Asset Management, Logistics, Sales & Distribution, Manufacturing, Material Management & IS-OIL.
The candidate should also possess an understanding of analytic platforms across SAP & non-SAP, how they would be used to ingest, transform & visualize data.
Key Accountabilities
Part of a cross-disciplinary team, working closely with functional ERP architects, data managers, data stewards & owners & business process guides.
Define & detail the data governance operating model of how governance is applied and enforced across master data & transaction data across the entire data value chain
Work with the data offices to formalize the data governance operating model and embed them in their organization, processes & ways of working
Design the enterprise data governance architecture across SAP systems of record & downstream consuming applications by resolving integration mechanisms, data quality & profiling capability, master data management, data cataloguing & lineage and enforcement of regulatory and compliance requirements
Define & maintain SAP-centric data policies & standards that is consistent across the entire data value chain be it in the systems of records or systems of insight
Working with the Data Offices to maintain conceptual & logical data architectures that represent the Critical Data Elements (CDEs) of the business based on their requirements and ensuring they enforce to the policies & standards defined
Certifications:
SAP MDG Application Associate, DAMA-CDMP Associate/Professional, Alation Professional Implementer desirable, Collibra Ranger desirable
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
8+ years of experience SAP MDG, SAP ECC or S/4HANA
4+ years of experience implementing data governance processes on data governance platforms like Alation/Collibra/Purview & SAP MDG
Demonstrable experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance operating models
Strong understanding of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA data concepts
1 full-cycle delivery of SAP S/4HANA implementation as a Data Architect, Data Manager or Data Migration Lead
Strong expertise in SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA & CDS Views
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
BONUS: Hands on experience with integrating SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) with data governance platforms
BONUS: Hands on experience with integrating Palantir Foundry with data governance platforms
