Location: Miri, Sarawak
We are seeking to appoint a teaching and research focus Lecturer to join the department of Accounting, Finance and Economics in the Faculty of Business on a contract basis.
The role holder will be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and will be expected to make a significant contribution to research.
Your key responsibilities:
\xc2\xb7 Deliver learning activities online, distributed or face to face as appropriate, which stimulate and foster student learning.
\xc2\xb7 Assess and provide feedback on learning to students.
\xc2\xb7 Supervise undergraduate and post graduate students\xe2\x80\x99 research projects/studies.
\xc2\xb7 Conduct high quality research, attract competitive grants and maintain an active record of publications.
\xc2\xb7 Contribute significantly to academic service, collegiality and engagement and external community engagement activities relevant to the discipline/profession.
Selection Criteria:
\xc2\xb7 Postgraduate qualification (Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree with scholarly activities in accordance to the requirements of AACSB, preferably a Doctorate) in a relevant discipline related to Business Law.
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated sufficient academic maintenance activities for a scholarly academic according to AACSB criteria (e.g. journal, book, conference publications, grants, editorial, conference and reviewer activities, master and PhD supervision).
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated teaching experience at tertiary level and familiar with online teaching tools.
\xc2\xb7 Established high level teaching skills with a reflective approach to teaching delivery.
\xc2\xb7 An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
\xc2\xb7 A strong understanding of pedagogical and contemporary educational practise relevant to the discipline.
\xc2\xb7 A high level of English verbal and written communication.
\xc2\xb7 Proven experience and record of supervising higher degree research students.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to develop proposals for research funding, design research projects, lead and develop a research team.
\xc2\xb7 An established record of research output/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
\xc2\xb7 High level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
\xc2\xb7 Contribution to an active role in academic service and proven evidence of effective leadership within the department/faculty level as appropriate to the level of appointment.
