The successful candidate will be responsible for convening and teaching undergraduate units within the School of Engineering and Science, with a focus on Chemical Engineering and their specific area of research expertise.
This role requires active contribution to departmental activities, including leadership in teaching, engagement in both traditional and innovative research, and participation in external collaborations within Chemical Engineering and the broader university community.
Key responsibilities include:
Convening units of study and delivering lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and assessments to ensure high-quality learning outcomes.
Providing academic consultation, guidance, and mentoring to students.
Developing a portfolio of research and scholarly activities.
Disseminating research findings and scholarly work through appropriate platforms.
Supervising honours, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a Washington Accord-recognised institution.
Registration with a professional body such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
Documented expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Catalysis and chemical reaction engineering
Sustainable materials development for clean energy applications
Electrochemistry
Proven track record of impactful research output with significant contributions to the field.
