Applicants must have specialization in specific areas : Gerontology nursing / Midwifery / Peri-operative nursing / Mental Health Nursing / Emergency and Trauma Nursing / Infection Control / Oncology Nursing / Orthopedic Nursing / Neuroscience Nursing Applicant must : 1. Possess a bachelor in nursing as recognized by the MNB. or possess bachelor in health care related subject as recognized by the MNB with Diploma in Nursing (exceptional before Dec 2017). 2. Registered nurse. 3. Possess current annual practicing certificate (APC) for nurses or temporary practicing certificate (TPC) for foreigner. 4. Possess post basic qualification. 5. Has a minimum of five (5) years clinical working experience as a registered nurse. Job Scope The lecturer is engaged in the delivery of all aspects of nurse education and he or she is also expected to work flexibly and to contribute to delivering the general range of subjects and activities within the Faculty at pre registration, post basic, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This will include teaching in appropriate subjects and liaison with clinical staff. Responsibility The Lecturer is accountable to the Head of School. Main Activities General Duties and Responsibilities of Lecturers: 1. Teach and assess students in the areas of knowledge inferred by the lecturer\xe2\x80\x99s qualifications and experience 2. Plan, implement, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction 3. Maintain and develop areas of expertise including participation in clinical area under the general guidance of the Dean of the Faculty 4. Participate with other academic and clinical staff in the development of different teaching and learning strategies 5. Act as mentor to students. Guidance to students in methods of study and use of reference books and library, Individual attention to students when necessary, including individual assignments 6. Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with Healthcare staff and/or other agencies through liaison and participate in working groups when appropriate 7. Contribute to the development and delivery of academic provision in related disciplines including associated academic operational responsibilities as required ensuring an excellent 8. Responsible for administrative duties in areas such as admissions, assessment of student progress and achievement, student retention and attendance 9. Contribute to the development and implementation of University led and/or Faculty initiatives and developments in line with strategic business development plans 10. Participate in research, knowledge exchange and public engagement to enhance the reputation of the University External Activities 1. External activities for example membership of professional bodies, external examiner roles and journal editorial work which enhance the work of the lecturer are encouraged within the overall provisions of the exclusivity of the service arrangements to which the lecturer is subject. Additionally, the Institution expects employees to take a cross University role e.g., through membership of Committees and Working Parties, community and social responsibility. Professional Development 1. Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to enhance professional development in order to facilitate effective student learning. Special Conditions 1. The lecturer will be required to travel and represent the University in Malaysia ad overseas as required. 2. There will be a need to work occasional weekends to cover marketing and recruitment activities. 3. There will be a need for flexible working practices by the lecturer to support different forms of delivery such as distance as accelerate learning. In addition, the lecturer may be required to undertake their role off site.
