School of Arts at Sunway University welcomes interested candidates to submit their resumes for the above-stated vacancy with the following job specifications.
Background and Purpose This position will mainly teach in the Diploma in Graphic & Multimedia Design programme, and relevant Degree Programmes if needed. Candidates must have knowledge in three or more of the following areas: Typography, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Design Thinking, Motion Graphics, Publication Design, User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design, Printing Technology, and Sustainable Design. Candidates would preferably have a Master's Degree and have relevant experience teaching in similar programmes. Candidates who specialise in Graphic and Multimedia Design, and possess experience in MQA processes and documentations, as well as programme leadership roles will be prioritized.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Lecturers are expected to provide leadership in and contribute to the teaching, research and general administration, support and management of the academic unit to which he/she is attached, including undertaking programme leadership roles. Academic staff members are also expected to engage actively in activities to develop or enhance their teaching, research and/ or professional expertise relevant to their profession or discipline area.
Specific Duties Research:

• Conduct research-creation in areas applicable to the Department/School;
• Supervise student research projects; Participate in collaborative research projects with colleagues both within and external to the University;

Teaching:

• Design, plan and deliver lectures, tutorials and other teaching and learning activities appropriate to their discipline and subject to the requirements of the Department/School;
• Assess students work and progress, and provide constructive and timely feedback;
• Regularly review the effectiveness of their teaching, and proactively seek ways to improve the quality and effectiveness of their teaching;
• Initiate and lead on the design, development, delivery, review and enhancement of programmes of study within their Department/School; Invigilate examinations and assessments, moderate assessment papers, including second marking, and attend and contribute to Subject and Programme Boards.

Service:

• Participate constructively in Department, School and/or University committees;
• Undertake leadership roles within the department and the school, such as the role of Programme Leader or equivalent role;
• Participate in internal and external events, such as open days, outreach activities, and visits to partner institutions and internship placements;
• Support and assist senior colleagues in ensuring the smooth running of the department and programmes;
• Provide academic counselling to students, referring them to other support services as required; Mentor junior staff.

Advanced Scholarship: Champion and engage in the creation, application and dissemination of new knowledge in relevant academic fields, and/or in higher education practice.
