JOB SUMMARY

The School of Design and Arts is seeking passionate and qualified individuals to teach undergraduate courses in Media and Communication. The position calls for expertise in media theory, digital communication, and contemporary trends in media.

Ideal candidates will bring a strong foundation in media production, journalism, corporate communication, or digital storytelling. Additional strengths in social media strategy, public relations, or media ethics will be considered a significant advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and continuously enhance curriculum and teaching materials across various academic levels and programs. Lead and facilitate teaching activities, including lectures, tutorials, and assessments, to ensure high standards of student learning outcomes. Provide academic consultation and mentorship to students. Supervise honours, postgraduate, and doctoral students. Pursue ongoing professional development in teaching, supervision, and mentorship. Support the growth and innovation of the Faculty's learning and teaching initiatives. Develop and maintain a robust portfolio of research and scholarly activities. Actively contribute to research training, the formation of research groups, and collaborative scholarly networks. Engage with industry and professional communities in areas aligned with the Faculty's focus. Provide leadership in academic, professional, and community-oriented initiatives. Uphold high academic and professional standards across all responsibilities. Participate in the administration and continuous improvement of academic programs within the Faculty

JOB REQUIREMENTS

A PhD in Media and Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, or a closely related field. A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience in higher education, preferably in media studies or communication. A proven research record in media theory, digital communication, or emerging media technologies. Expertise in data visualization or multimedia news production (audio and video) is highly desirable. Strong academic performance throughout previous studies. Demonstrated knowledge in specialized or emerging sub-fields within media and communication. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
