Job Responsibilities
Assist in managing legal and regulatory compliance for the Group's business operations, including company secretarial duties.
Support the review, drafting, and negotiation of legal documents and contracts, including those related to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, due diligence, corporate restructuring, investment and divestment, and general commercial transactions.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, company secretaries, and auditors as necessary.
Provide legal support in areas such as intellectual property, litigation management, dispute resolution, Islamic financing, and venture capital funding.
Advise and assist on compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad Listing Requirements Companies Act 2016
Anti-corruption laws (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering Act, Anti-Terrorism Financing Act)
Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and other data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)
eKYC and financial services regulations
Support corporate governance activities and assist with board reporting and decision-making processes.
Assist operational teams in managing customer and partner disputes to protect the Group's interests.
Promote and support the use of document and work management technologies to enhance legal efficiency and consistency.
Participate in the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
Assist in contract lifecycle management, including review of agreements initiated by internal departments.
Support in managing legal risks across business functions and advising management on potential legal exposures.
Attend legal and compliance-related projects or assignments as directed by the Group Chief Executive Officer or legal leadership.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; professional qualification is an added advantage.
1-2 years of legal or corporate experience, ideally in a corporate legal department or law firm.
Good understanding of corporate and commercial law.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal documentation software.
