About our client:

Our client is one of the leading multinational company across the retail industry. Currently, they are looking for a high caliber Legal, Assistant Manager to join their team. This role is reporting to Head of Legal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise / review commercial drafting, analyze documentation and negotiate contracts such as lease agreements, sponsorship agreements, logistics agreements, distribution agreements etc for SEA.
  • Support the Regional Legal Counsel in conducting legal risk assessment and drafting memo.
  • Develop, establish, review in-house contract templates.
  • Identify risks and issues in terms & conditions, and suggest business friendly alternatives that lead to a mutually acceptable solution for parties.
  • Ensure that the Group's interest is protected in the legal terms in tenders' process.Support compliance related issues, implementation of policies, compliance trainings to employees and other ad hoc projects.
  • Manage and coordinate all litigation and potential claims, dispute resolution matters, arbitration proceedings, claims and disputes and to identify ways of reducing legal risk of cost while protecting the Group's image.
  • Manage the quality and cost of legal services provided by external law firms and overseas counsels through appropriate service level agreements as well as acting as liaison between company and external counsel.
  • Work closely with different departments within the company to understand key requirements of the business and operational processes.
Key Requirements:
  • Min Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree or Certificate in Law / Legal related field or equivalent.
  • Min 5-7 years of working experience in FMCG/Retail industry.
  • Highly adaptive to changing circumstances and environment and able to work under tight deadlines if necessary.
  • Strong inter-personal skills, has high self-initiative, resourceful, attentive to detail, commitment to working as a team to achieve overall goals and objective.
  • Able to handle communication that demonstrates high professionalism with all levels including management level and external parties.
  • Comfortable as a self-starter with the ability to work independently and conduct hands-on review and drafting of contracts/legal documentation.
