Legal: -

• Drafting and reviewing agreements

Compliance: -

• Supporting the team in identifying compliance risk, managing controls to mitigate identified compliance risks
• Monitoring compliance with relevant laws, and regulations, as well as internal compliance and ethical requirements
• Reporting on a regular basis compliance issues as and when required including to Group.

Data Privacy: -

• Assisting in Data Privacy Matters that the team undertakes including research and training

General: -

• To work collaboratively with others in the General Secretary team to ensure an approach and to help create an effective combined General Secretary team.
• Focus on early warning on any emerging issues, including legal or regulatory changes
• Ensure that work is progressed in a proactive and commercial way offering solutions and alternative approaches where appropriate
• Demonstrate high levels of visibility maximizing opportunities to meet face to face (within travel restrictions).
• Working with Head of Legal to manage the workload, demonstrating efficiencies in terms of cost and time.
• Working with the Head of Legal, ensure that the business team receives high quality and effective advice and strategic guidance on relevant aspects of its operations to enable legal, regulatory and control considerations are given appropriate weight and legal risks are managed/mitigated appropriately.
• Ensure appropriate escalation of issues and matters requiring approval.

Job Requirements

• Highly proficiency in English.
• Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) background.
• Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years legal experience in either insurance or banking sectors in Asia.
• Understanding and experienced in insurance regulatory framework in key Asian market may be an advantage
• Experienced in commercial negotiations
• Experienced in managing external lawyers in number of jurisdictions
• Understanding and experience of Asian data privacy issues and laws
• Ability to communicate effectively (both written and spoken) in English.
• Proven drafting and negotiation skills

Remuneration

RM 6,000 - RM 7,000
