In the APAC region, we already have more than 270 employees located in our country offices throughout the APAC region (Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, and Australia). Our business activities include solar trading, project development, operations & maintenance, and tailor-made renewable energy solutions.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join BayWa r.e. as a legal counsel providing legal support to our renewable energy projects throughout Southeast Asia, and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

The position will be based in our office in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

What You Will Do

• Working with our management and project teams across the region to provide legal support on all project development, investment, finance and M&A activities.
• Leading on all legal documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including negotiation with co-developers, off-takers, financiers and contractors.
• Providing legal support on the acquisition and structuring of projects and negotiation of the same.
• Supporting on project sales to investors.
• Evaluating, engaging and managing external law firms.

What You Bring

• Lawyer with minimum 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in legal practice either in-house with renewable energy, EPC, infrastructure, or oil and gas companies or a law firm.
• Project development and transactional experience (M&A, project development & construction, financing) is preferred.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
