Job Description


Summary:The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to the company, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and safeguarding the company\xe2\x80\x99s interests. The role involves advising on a wide range of legal issues, drafting and reviewing contracts, handling litigation, and working closely with various departments to support business objectives.What You\'ll Champion:
1. Legal Advice and Counsel:

  • Provide expert legal advice to senior management and other departments on a broad range of legal issues, including corporate law, employment law, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Stay current with changes in legislation and regulations that affect the company and provide proactive guidance to ensure compliance.
2. Contract Management:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts, including vendor agreements, employment contracts, NDAs, licensing agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure all contracts and agreements align with the company\xe2\x80\x99s policies and legal standards.
3. Corporate Governance:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of board materials and corporate governance documents.
  • Ensure the company\xe2\x80\x99s compliance with corporate governance standards and practices.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide legal support and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders.

Who You Are:
  • Law degree and professional legal qualification with 5+ years post-qualification experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in clearly explaining legal concepts and issues to non-lawyers and providing succinct, accurate and comprehensible legal advice.
  • Ability to lead the transaction from start to finish
  • Knowledge of the legal areas relevant in airlines will be an added advantage.
  • Equal high effectiveness working within teams or individually.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong people management skills, working with different cultures, skill levels and the ability to handle a range of client demands, mixing project work and day to day transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on a number of issues in parallel.
  • Sharp commercial mind with the ability to assess and balance contract and reputational risk to current business situations.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn, and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Exposure to international civil and/or common law contracts.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Bahasa.
  • Role-appropriate computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Excel) and willingness to learn new systems and platforms.
  • Grace under pressure, a sense of humility and a sense of humor.
