This Company, the leading airline in the sky, is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and analytical Legal Counsel to join our exceptional team! As a Legal Counsel at This Company and its subsidiaries, your primary responsibility will be to provide professional and practical legal advice fused with commercial sense. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and governance across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify legal risks within the designated area and develop alternative strategies to address them.
  • Ensure that legal documents accurately reflect business and commercial concerns while adhering to legal obligations.
  • Proactively monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Evaluate and mitigate the business\'s exposure to legal risks.
  • Efficiently resolve legacy and liability issues with legal implications.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Contribute to team efforts, future legal initiatives, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a sustainable culture of change.
  • Work independently while also collaborating within a virtual team to provide cross-support and guidance as needed.
Requirements:
  • Law degree and professional legal qualification with a strong academic background.
  • Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a law firm or legal department of a medium to large international corporation.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts in simple language to non-lawyers and provide clear and concise legal advice.
  • Knowledge of legal areas relevant to e-commerce and digital, including contracting and procurement.
  • Ability to understand and align with business drivers and needs, drafting contracts with a thorough understanding of the business and commercial intentions.
  • Strong influencing, negotiating, and facilitation skills.
  • Exposure to international civil and/or common law contracts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients at all levels and across various cultures.
