Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a lorry and trailer combination, including maneuvering, accelerating, and braking according to traffic and road conditions.
Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo onto the trailer while adhering to proper handling techniques and ensuring securement to prevent damage during transit.
Route Planning: Plan the most efficient and safe routes to reach destinations, considering factors such as traffic conditions, road closures, and delivery schedules.
Delivery and Collection: Ensure timely and accurate delivery and collection of goods as per the assigned schedule and customer requirements.
Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to legal and company-specific regulations, including maintaining accurate records of deliveries, fuel usage, mileage, and other required documentation.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the lorry and trailer, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels. Report any issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
Communication and Coordination: Maintain regular communication with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues to provide updates on delivery status, potential delays, and other relevant information.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients, ensuring a positive experience during deliveries and addressing any concerns or issues.
