The Role: Low Carbon Commodities Pricing Specialist

The Team:

The Low Carbon Commodities Pricing team analyzes market activity and data and incorporates market knowledge into developing and publishing price assessments that can be used as an important energy transition tool for companies\' decarbonization efforts. They also report on burgeoning spot market and forward market prices and the factors moving markets as they develop. The team is global and collaborative and engages with the market through various mediums, including commentaries, stories, podcasts, blogs, and videos. It is vital the team works across other content sectors such as crude oil, refined products and natural gas.

The Impact:

You\'ll be part of a team that produces actionable and informative content in the fast-growing and hugely relevant Low Carbon Commodities space. The role will have a particular focus on expanding and evolving our coverage of low-carbon and carbon-accounted crude oil and refined products pricing and analysis. While early in the market development we aspire to have relevant benchmarks around the world that will be vital to our customers as they provide price transparency to physical markets. The content will inform customers regarding supply and demand developments, commodity flows, price trends, and infrastructure and regulatory issues and help develop a community around Platts Low Carbon Commodities coverage.

What\'s in it for you:

Build cross-commodity expertise in decarbonization and energy transition pathways for crude oil, refined products & natural gas

Develop and maintain relationships with a broad base of industry contacts

Engage with contacts regarding pricing and methodology development

Articulate expertise and thought-leadership through a variety of media

Responsibilities:

Publish price assessments according to methodology

Drive development of new assessments in line with market developments

Inform the market through regional price commentaries, news coverage, podcast and other digital content describing key fundamental market drivers moving prices

Drive customer meetings to learn about important issues facing market participants and translate to new products or adjustments to Platts offerings

Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to Platts Editorial Standards

Serve as an internal and external ambassador for Platts Low Carbon Commodities offerings and ambitions

What We\'re Looking For:

Key qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree in economics, journalism, energy, policy, international affairs, among other subjects, is required, with higher degrees preferred.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Able to work within daily deadlines and can handle multiple tasks.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.

Key soft skills:

Curiosity about energy markets and enthusiasm about learning new things.

Responsible and accountable.

Works to create a positive and collaborative work environment.

Grade/Level (relevant for internal applicants only): Grade 09.

The Location: Penang, Malaysia.
