Location:, ,Salary:Market relatedType:PermanentMain Industry:Advertiser:Job ID:131018122Posted On:28 August 2024Job Title: Maintenance DirectorLocation: Sabah, MalaysiaWe\'re currently supporting a global hospitality group, with their search for a Maintenance Director.The group have a global footprint, with a portfolio of luxury properties across Europe, Asia, and Africa, and they are now looking to open a brand new luxury resort next year within Malaysia.In short, the Maintenance Director will be responsible for maintaining the hotel\'s infrastructure (e.g. buildings, electricity etc.) You will also manage maintenance personnel and plan various renovation and repair projects too. Familiarity with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems is essential. Your goal will be to ensure our hotel premises are safe and functional for guests and employees alike.Ideally candidates will come from a luxury hotelier background, with previous APAC experience being a plus. Preference will be given to those who are fluent in Malay and/or Bahasa too.What you\'ll be doing:

• Inspect hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards.
• Organize repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests.
• Plan and oversee renovations and construction.
• Act fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g. power outages).
• Supervise the wider Maintenance team.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Maintain budgets, expenses and activity logs.

• Proven experience as a Hotel Maintenance Director/Senior Maintenance Manager.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems; hotel industry experience is a plus.
• Experience in administrative processes (e.g. budgeting, performance management).
• Ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly.
• Problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in Facility Management is preferred.
• Valid Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM) is a plus.
