PREFERRED MALE CANDIDATE

Overall Purpose of the Role

To ensure that facilities, layout, utilities, and machinery used to produce new and existing goods run at maximum efficiency and output. This includes preventive maintenance, breakdown repair (mechanical and electrical), and ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements. The role may also include training and assessing other technicians and apprentices. This role involves physical and technical tasks; candidates should be physically fit to perform required duties

Install, maintain, improve, and repair equipment, plant, services, and building installations to set levels effectively in compliance with best practices. Respond to technical issues affecting production and maintain electrical and mechanical services through Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM). Work mostly independently with minimal supervision, with progress reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by the Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Compliance

Carry out daily maintenance activities on electrical systems, control panels, distribution boards, lighting, and power supply. Perform troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of wiring, motors, contactors, sensors, and other electrical components. Conduct periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations to ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements. Ensure safe execution of electrical work, including Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and compliance with OSHA standards. Support energy-saving initiatives and monitor power consumption efficiency.

Mechanical Maintenance

Perform daily maintenance on mechanical systems including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, chillers, HVAC, and utilities. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Improve machine utilization and reduce downtime through proactive maintenance.

Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

Execute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance schedules. Respond promptly to breakdowns and carry out repairs with efficiency and effectiveness. Participate in planned maintenance shutdown works. Support cost-saving initiatives by reducing unplanned stoppages and optimizing spare part usage.

Project & Support Works

Assist supervisor in project work, electrical drive installation, and machine upgrades. Carry out project works and ad-hoc assignments as required. Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized servicing. Perform other reasonable duties related to maintenance and technical support as assigned

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain maintenance records, service reports, and electrical logbooks. Update checklists, inspection sheets, and work orders accurately. Report recurring issues and recommend technical improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Possess a valid

Wireman Certificate

issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) is added advantage. Minimum

Certificate/Diploma

in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field. At least

2 years of relevant industry experience

(food manufacturing/F&B preferred). Good understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and components. Hands-on troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills. Mechanical, electrical, electronic, or software background with a working knowledge of other disciplines. Ability to work independently and in a team, with flexibility for shifts. Strong organizational and reporting skills. Bahasa Malaysia (preferred) and English proficiency.
