The Global Sustainability team is a dynamic and strategic central team that directs, develops, and implements the key pillars of Sustainability across Western Digital. The charter of this department is to operationalize all Sustainability prerogatives around Production, Product life cycle, Supply chain, Society and Governance, by building capability, setting priorities and installing a data-driven paradigm of execution. This team sets the strategy incorporating market forces, regulatory environment, stakeholder feedback with a mission of driving a triple bottom-line of profit, people and planet.



Overview:

This position is for a dynamic individual contributor role in the Production Pillar of WD\'s Global Sustainability Department. This individual will a key working point of contact between various stakeholders to bring together solutions, data, analysis, reporting, and due diligence in WD\'s Sustainability Programme. Generally, key activities for this position include bringing together data, underpinning execution of initiatives with key stakeholders across WD\'s global manufacturing sites to support the short-, medium- and long-term Sustainability Goals set by the Company.

The ideal candidate will need strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills, perseverance to work through towards the end goal and set a good pace.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Shape sustainability efforts within the production pillar
  • Lead Data management for KPIV and KPOV for Scope 1,2, Water and Waste, focusing on sustaining data and information on actuals, forecasts, outlook and gaps, prepare manual or automated dashboards around production aspects of sustainability.
  • Perform data analytics, summaries, granularities - investigations and deep diving into in Production Pillar Sustainability metrics.
  • Perform monthly due diligence around refreshed actuals, forecasts (including volume, petabytes) , underpinned projects progress (Scope 1,2, Water and Waste) and link them with accurate and timely data within the ESG platform
  • Ensure ESG Platform serves as the source of truth by working with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate capture of actuals, tracking opportunities to fix and improve the system, identifying data consistency and accuracy improvement projects
  • Maintain traction on abatement Projects across WD sites - monitoring, recording, extracting-compiling, summarizing, gap-to-goal analysis.
  • Ensure timely deliver of automation projects and refresh of Dashboards (YTD/QTD/Monthly) Actuals vs Goals vs Outlook and corelating to Abatement Projects in the current and future pipeline.
  • Supporting Audit needs and interface (IMS/ISO: data, reports, compilation of documents, collaboration with stakeholders etc.).
  • Updating, and maintaining and documentation control for Renewable Energy Allocation System aligned to customer RE allocations with well documented traceability for audits.
  • Support Production Pillar leader on key core activities such as new initiatives, data analysis and relevant communication decks (such as PowerPoint) for key updates to stakeholders and similar.
  • Coordinate the execution of additional EACs as needed to close gaps vs. customer Renewable Energy obligations
  • Support analytics needed to answer customer queries specific to Production related tasks
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or a degree in allied areas of Supply Chain, Science, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • At least 6 years of experience in High Volume Manufacturing operations, preferably semiconductors and HDD operations.
