Description and Requirements

Role Value Proposition

Responsible for USGAAP reporting and analysis in the Malaysia Center of Excellence (CoE) for the assigned Local Business Units (LBU): Japan/Korea. Collaborates with the LBU on related business concerns and also drives continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for USGAAP actuarial financial reporting (e.g. DAC, VOBA) for assigned LBU and feed journal entry support information to Controllers group Interfaces with LBU to understand requirements and leads the delivery of high quality solutions Calculates and reviews GAAP reserves according to principles and Standards of Practice (SoPs) Collaborates with peers to fully understand the needs and issues related to assigned LBU Assist LBU to address questions from auditors and regional office Execute and improve existing controls on the reporting process Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees the daily operation of assigned team Provides technical direction to assigned team, identifies competency gaps and collaborates to close gap

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required

Bachelor degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science and 5+ year working experience Good progress in SOA Actuarial Examination close to qualification Excellent verbal and written communication skills to analyze, interpret and address customer needs Experience on actuarial and coding software such as Python, Prophet or Axis is useful
